EMILY LIM, FOUNDER

Trained in fine dining and Michelin restaurants (All Spice, JAAN, COI, Alexander's Steakhouse), Chef Emily was one of the many impacted by the COVID-19 Pandemic and found herself out of a job. However, despite facing such adversity, she took this as an opportunity to pursue her dream of sharing her roots of Singaporean foods to the Bay Area, starting with a hawker-style pop-up.

 

OUR PURPOSE

to provide work opportunities to our friends in the F&B industry whilst recreating the experience of eating at a hawker centre in Singapore with friends and/or family.

 

WHAT'S HAPPENING NOW

Chef Emily has been running Dabao Singapore remotely from Singapore as she tries to attain her visa to return to San Francisco.

Chef Jessie and Chef Harrison work closely together to helm the kitchen in San Francisco. Chef Jessie was the Executive Chef at ALX prior to COVID -19.


Both chefs are 2 Michelin star Acquerello alumnus and have experience working internationally. 

Our good friends, Shanna and Preethi (fellow Singaporean chef transplants), help fine tune the flavors. Shanna used to operate @MakanPlaceSF and Preethi used to chef consult for The Riddler amongst other places in the Bay Area.
